1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Career Ladder ("career-ladder.ai"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Career Ladder provides AI-powered career intelligence based on publicly available occupational data from sources including the O*NET database maintained by the U.S. Department of Labor. The service analyzes roles at the occupational level — it does not evaluate individual employees, resumes, or performance.
3. Not Professional Advice
The analysis, scores, and recommendations provided by Career Ladder are informational only. They do not constitute career counseling, financial advice, legal advice, or any other form of professional guidance. You should consult qualified professionals before making significant career or financial decisions.
4. Accounts
You may use limited features as a guest. Creating an account requires a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support@career-ladder.ai within 14 days of purchase.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the service to make employment decisions about other people; attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the underlying data or models; use automated tools to access the service at scale without written permission; or misrepresent outputs as official government or institutional data.
7. Intellectual Property
Career Ladder, its logo, interface, and original analysis methodology are the intellectual property of Career Ladder. Occupational data sourced from O*NET is public domain. You retain ownership of any personal data you provide.
8. Data & Privacy
We collect only what's needed to deliver the service. We do not sell personal data. Analytics are privacy-first (no PII is sent to third parties). For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
9. Limitation of Liability
Career Ladder is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for decisions made based on the information provided. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
10. Beta Disclaimer
Career Ladder is currently in public beta. Features, analysis methodology, and pricing may change. We will provide reasonable notice before making material changes to the service or these terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@career-ladder.ai.
